Creating New Secret

Select the blue + in the header and choose New Secret Item.

General

Name — the item name.
Value — the secret itself. See Creating New Secret Value Type for the available formats.

Choose the destination folder using the folder browser, which offers Search folders… and a Back to parent folder control.

Optionally set:

Description
Maximum Versions — how many historical versions the vault keeps. Your account default is pre-filled, and the allowed range is set by your account.

Field	What it does
`Protection Key`	The DFC key protecting the item, chosen from a searchable list. Fixed if your account enforces an exclusive default key.
`Tags`	Searchable tag picker. Tags drive the Tags filter.
`Delete protection`	When on, the item cannot be deleted. Your account may enable this by default for new items.

Select Add Field to add a key/value pair. Each row has its own remove control.

Select Save. The new item appears in the folder you chose.
